BGSU grad pens book family’s trials, triumphs

"Mable’s Girl," a non-fiction account of a woman’s struggles and triumphs through the
Depression and continuing to her daughter’s story, is now available locally at Grounds for Thought, 174
S. Main St., Bowling Green.
"Mable’s Girl" was written by Cherie A. Dupler, who holds bachelor and masters degrees from
Bowling Green State University, under the pen name of Cheri Ann Putman.
Dubler describes the book as: "A family narrative of adoption cover-up, betrayal, restoration,
healing and laughter."
The book relates how Mable struggled through the Depression and had a child out of wedlock and continues
with her daughter’s story, including the discovery that the man she thought was her father was not.
