Luminaria return Saturday to New Rochester
For the 31st consecutive year, the community of New Rochester will have its Christmas Eve display of the
luminaria in the tradition of "lighting the way for the Christ Child."
This year’s display will consist of approximately 600 luminaria.
The public is invited to come see this traditional Christmas Eve event which will begin at dusk. New
Rochester is located at the intersections of U.S. 6 and Ohio 199 and North River Road, approximately six
miles east of Bowling Green.
Wayne station robbed, again
WAYNE – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a breaking and entering at Wayne Friendship
Marathon gas station Wednesday.
The incident occurred between 2 and 4 a.m. at the business, located in the 3200 block of Defiance Pike.
At least two suspects were involved in the incident, stealing more than 150 cigarette cartons of multiple
brands, worth approximately $50 each.
A similar incident occurred at the businesses one month ago.

Dowling lights up the night Christmas Eve
Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Dowling, will share in the Christmas Eve tradition of lighting
luminaria to "light to way" for the Christ Child on Saturday, Christmas Eve.
An estimated 700 luminaria will be lit along Carter and Dowling roads in the village, located six miles
north of Bowling Green.
BG BPU cancels meeting
The Bowling Green Board of Public Utilities meeting scheduled for Monday has been canceled due to lack of
any business requiring board action.
The next regular meeting has been scheduled for Jan. 9 in council chambers of the City Administrative
Services Building, 304 N. Church St.
