Pop soul singer at Grounds

Cameron Bedell plays at
Ground for Thought in BG Saturday at 8 p.m.

Asked to describe his music Cameron Bedell doesn’t mince words – "pop soul as simple as that."

Bedell with members of his band the Skunks will perform a free show Saturday at 8 p.m. at Grounds for
Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green.
Raised in Kansas and now based in Nashville, Tenn. the 22-year-old’s first musical inspiration was his
father, who played bass in a Christian band.
Bedell said of his father: "He taught me everything I know. I just used to sit and watch him play
and ask, ‘Yo, pops how’d you do that?’"
He style was formed by listening to Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and the Temptations.
He attended Butler University where he performed in its internationally ranked barbershop quartet and its
show choir.
"Dancing and singing has always been fun for me, performing with a big band for a big audience at a
big venue is a blast," he said.
At the Grounds show the band will play "some funky covers but mostly originals."
Bedell will be joined by Alex Carey, guitar, Zach Witcher, bass, and RJ Walker, drums.
