TOLEDO – Pianist Kirill Gerstein will perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concertos 1 and 4 with the Toledo
Symphony Orchestra Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle.
Merwin Siu, the orchestra’s principal second violin said of Gerstein: "He takes pieces that we’ve
heard hundreds of times and makes them sound compellingly individual, and simultaneously, exactly right,
like they shouldn’t be played any other way."
