Cla-Zel hosts top pop act

Pop singer Andy Grammer, pegged by Billboard as one of its 2011 Artists to Watch, will perform a free,
all-ages show Tuesday at The Cla-Zel Theatre 127 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
The double bill also features Florida rock band We the Kings.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show.
Grammer has worked his way up in the industry by starting playing on the streets of Los Angeles with only
a car-battery powered amplifier and an acoustic guitar. His debut album is out on S-Curve records.
It’s widely known that it takes 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to become an expert at anything. Andy
Grammer logged his 10,000 hours of practice on the streets of Los Angeles. With his car battery powered
amplifier and acoustic guitar in tow, Grammer managed to sing his way from the streets to the center of
the music industry.
The rigors of street performing inspired his top 10 hit "Keep Your Head Up."
Hailing from Bradenton, Fla, We The Kings was founded by childhood friends singer and guitarist Travis
Clark, guitarist Hunter Thomsen, his bassist brother Drew Thomsen, and drummer Danny Duncan while they
were still in high school.
The single from their debut CD "Check Yes Juliet" cracked the Pop 100 in fall, 2007, and the
group has spent much of the intervening years on the road. The group released a third album,
"Sunshine State of Mind," this summer.
