African band jams at BGSU

The contemporary sounds of Africa will come to the campus of Bowling Green Sate University when Toby
Foyeh and Orchestra Africa perform Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Olscamp 101.
The ensemble offers a blend of traditional African music, songs, rhythms, jazz, and rock.
Founder Toby Foyeh has toured the world performing the genre known as Afrijam.
The orchestra features a mix of Western and African instruments including Yoruba talking drums, and Bata
drums guitars, flute, a drummer, and keyboards, percussionists to create a high energy polyrhythmic
groove.
The ensemble features a corps of male and female singers and dancers in traditional African costumes.
