The Sept. 8 chapter meeting was held in Juniper Hall at Stadium View. It was preceded by a luncheon of
chicken salad, fruit, and cheesecake.
Beta Sigma Phi’s International theme for 2011-2012 is "Building Our Futures on Traditions." The
Alpha Delta Master program theme for the year is "Those Who Helped Us Build Our Futures."
President Sonja Hammer read an invitation from Alpha Epsilon Master for Exemplar Night on Nov. 3 at 6:30
p.m. in Stadium View Party Room. The event theme is "Age is a Laughing Matter."
Members applauded the efforts of those who worked at the tractor pull on the chapter’s behalf: Dolores
Black, Steve Black, Jean Lanning, Dee Miller, Harriet Rosebrock, Sue Shunk, Elaine Spence, and Al
Spence.
Black, service committee chair, reported that the chapter will sponsor a special family this year and
also focus on donations to the Cocoon Shelter.
A fundraiser featuring a dinner and silent auction for the Cocoon Shelter will be held Oct. 26 from 6:30
to 9 p.m. at the Simpson Building.
Black passed out refrigerator magnets with the donation schedule for the year attached.
Shunk will bring a stocking to meetings for loose change collection.
The Oct. 13 chapter meeting will be at Stadium View. Shunk and Rosebrock will co-host. Joan Crusa will
present the program, "Irene: A Special Lady."
