Learn skateboard tricks
Come out to the BG Skatepark at City Park for a series of skills clinics on Saturdays through Oct. 22.
Instructed by Chris Parsons, there will be two different tricks each hour so participants can pick the
ones they want to learn or work on. All of the 9 a.m. clinics will follow a beginner progression. The 10
a.m. clinics will start with an Ollie (jump) and progress through harder tricks.
The 11 a.m. clinics are faster paced and participants must know how to Ollie to get the most out of this
clinic. Participants need to bring their own skateboard, helmet and water bottle highly recommended.
The cost for an individual hour clinic is $10 for residents and $13 for non-residents. The entire daily
session is $25 for residents and $28 for non-residents. Clinic details:

Sign up for music classes
The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will be offering Musikgarten programs for young
children beginning Oct. 19 at the Scout Building in City Park.
The session will run for 10 weeks and will be instructed by Susan West. Musikgarten classes help children
develop a love of music and the skills to play it through a series of activity filled, age appropriate
lessons.
Classes are being offered for three different age groups: babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Times and
fees are different for each age group and the registration deadline is Oct. 14.

Tweens rock the zoo
TOLEDO – Kids ages 8 to 12 will transform the Toledo Zoo into a rockin’ bash from 7 to 9 p.m. with
"Kids Rock the Zoo" on Oct. 15.
This year the tween party takes on a fall twist and becomes Hallowtween, with costumes encouraged but not
required. In the zoo’s Museum of Science, Radio Disney AM 910 will perform a live D-tour show featuring
games, music and Disney prizes, while a D.J. spins favorite tunes. Wii games will be waiting in the
Meijer mobile activity station and Bella Bee will offer fab makeovers.
The zoo will provide a nearby parents zone. All children attending Kids Rock the Zoo must be accompanied
by an adult chaperone to enter, and there should be at least one adult chaperone for every five
children.
All children and adults will be issued matching wristbands when they register in advance.
Tickets are $12 each (zoo members save $1 per ticket) and must be purchased in advance. Only 1,000
