ROSSFORD – The Board of Education has extended the contracts for two administrators through July 31,
2014.
Having their contracts renewed were Lester Pierson, Rossford Junior High principal, and Dawn Fahsholtz,
director of special services.
The board also changed the wording on extensions also to July 31, 2014, approved earlier this year to
seven other administrators: Tony Brashear, Jeff Culler, Julie Kalisik, Michelle Shafer, Sandy Smith,
Jeff Taylor and Ron Weaks.
Shafer, the district’s curriculum director, is hired through the Lucas County Educational Service Center.
That contract for $109,140 was also approved at the board’s Sept. 19 meeting.
As part of its consent agenda the board approved expenditures for the school year. Those expenditures,
just over $24 million, represent a 1.6 percent increase.
Treasurer Jamie Rossler said those expenditures reflect cuts made last spring as part of the district’s
ongoing efforts to contain sending. He noted that the district benefited from a modest increase in
health insurance costs.
Teachers and staff are receiving a 2-percent increase.
