Sterling House Bowling Green at 121 N. Wintergarden Road will host over the next few months an
Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers educational series.
On Wednesday, the series will focus on the topic "You’ve Heard the Diagnosis, Now What?" from
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It will host a support group after the event to provide families and caregivers an
opportunity to discuss the impact of Alzheimer’s and dementia in their lives.
Upcoming topics in the series include "Good Times Can Roll On: Successful Holidays, Travels and
Visits" on Oct. 26 and "Taking Care of the Caregiver" on Dec. 15.
"We are very excited to be able to provide much needed support to individuals with Alzheimer’s or
dementia and their caregivers," said Mischele Ruehl, area director of Sterling House Bowling Green.
"Our caregiver series provides education about seniors with memory issues as well as time for
discussion and support."
This educational series coincides with Sterling House Bowling Green’s expansion, which will introduce
Alzheimer’s and dementia care into the community.
As an addition to Sterling House Bowling Green, Clare Bridge Bowling Green will provide assistance to
Alzheimer’s and dementia care residents in a safe environment. The community will offer Innovative
Senior Care, a home health and therapy program in the community’s new therapy room.
