Teen Central opens next week
BG Teen Central is back.
To kick-off the year, the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will host a Friday Night Frenzy
at the Veterans Building on Sept. 23 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
The center will welcome sixth through eighth-graders with games, programs, food and a sneak peek at this
year’s upcoming events, all at no cost.

Library tutor program resumes
Puppet Pals Tutoring has resumed at the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St.
The joint project between the Children’s Place and the Martha Gesling Reading Center pairs trained tutors
from Bowling Green State University with students from kindergarten through fourth grade.
The tutors assist with homework, reading and language skills.
The free half-hour tutoring sessions are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from
4 to 6 p.m.

Horizon offers audition help and fall theater classes
Do you get nervous before auditions? Have you ever wondered what directors look for and how casting
decisions are made?
Then Horizon Youth Theatre’s first drama club meeting is for you.
On Monday, there will be an audition preparation workshop for students in grades one through nine at .
Talk to directors, hear their advice, and participate in a mock audition complete with feedback. Horizon
wants to help children learn to give the best audition they can.
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The cost is $5 per student.
Also, Horizon Youth Theatre is offering theater classes this fall.
Cassie Guion will teach two performance-based classes: one in fairy tale adaptation and one in original
scriptwriting. This is an opportunity to learn more about theater and help create an original piece of
drama.
Students must be 9 years of age or older. Classes meet once a week and start Saturday.

Register for ‘Musik’ program
The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is offering Musikgarten programs for children beginning
Wednesday at the Scout Building in City Park.
The session will run for 15 weeks and will be instructed by Susan West.
Musikgarten classes help children develop a love of music and the skills to play it through a series of
activity filled, age-appropriate lessons.
Classes are being offered for three different age groups: babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Times and
fees are different for each age group.
