Wood SWCD board to meet
The regular meeting of the Wood Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will be held on
the normal date and time in September. The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. on Friday at the district
office, 1616 E. Wooster St., Suite 32, Bowling Green.
The annual banquet and meeting will be held Thursday at Nazareth Hall at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available
at the office for $10 each and need to be purchased no later than Monday.
BG FFA tailgates
The Bowling Green FFA chapter will host its annual tailgate party on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the high
school, next to the new Performing Arts Center.
The event will feature a dunk tank, with the dunkees to include four high school teachers, two
administrators and two FFA members. In addition there will again be a truck smash with sledge hammers
provided. All proceeds from these events will be donated to Children’s Hospital.
The public is invited to join with the chapter and participate. There will also be corn hole games and
free hot dogs.
The theme will be "Do it for the Kids."
‘Alpaca Day’ celebrated
The Alpaca Crossroads LLC of Northwest Ohio, a group comprised of six area alpaca farms, will join with
the Tractor Supply Co., 18201 North Dixie Highway, will participate in "National Alpaca Farm
Day" on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is being celebrated nationwide the weekend of
Sept. 24.
Local officials chose Sunday to be able to hold its day in conjunction with the Black Swamp Art Festival
in downtown Bowling Green.
Alpacas from six area farms will be on display, rain or shine. This is a wonderful opportunity to come
out and meet an alpaca, learn more about these inquisitive, unique animals and the rewarding lifestyle
they can provide.
Those attending can watch an alpaca’s fleece being spun into yarn, purchase alpaca products and spend a
fun and educational day with the family! The event is free to the public.
