Perrysburg to host college admission fair
PERRYSBURG – The Perrysburg High School Guidance Department will host a college admission fair on Sept.
22 from 6 to 8 p.m. This event is for Perrysburg students only.
The fair "allows our students to springboard quickly into the admission process, giving our students
a leg-up in getting accepted to college," stated Rick Rettig, guidance counselor.
The format will include two sessions and with more time in the beginning of the admission fair to allow
for browsing at some of the university tables.
For PHS parents who have any questions prior to the event, call Rettig at (419) 874-3181 ext. 25186.
Counselors will be on-hand the evening of the event to answer additional questions.
Owens Foundation adds three members to board
The Owens Community College Foundation has appointed three community members to the Board of Directors.
Each director will serve a three-year term.
The newly appointed directors are Linda J. Brown-Ewing of Toledo, vice president of Community Affairs for
Fifth Third Bank; Louise A. Jackson of Toledo, partner of Spengler Nathanson; and Katherine Kreuchauf of
Findlay, president of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.
The Owens Foundation has over $2.5 million in assets. The Foundation Board of Directors currently is
comprised of 32 community leaders from Lucas, Wood and Hancock counties.
Otsego seeking volunteers to run football scoreboard
TONTOGANY – Otsego High School is looking for volunteers who would be available to help with the
ninth-grade/junior varsity home football games this season. Open positions include scoreboard/clock
operator and announcing.
Dates are: Sept. 24 – JV, Oct. 8 – JV, Oct. 22 – JV and Oct. 24 – 9th.
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Joyce Harnishfeger at the high school.
Auditions open to male students
Toledo’s St. Ursula Academy will hold open auditions on Sept. 18 for male roles in its production of
"Thoroughly Modern Millie."
Male students from any public or private school district are invited to audition. Audition packets will
be available at www.toledosua.org after Thursday. Rehearsals will begin Oct. 24.
