WEDNESDAY
Trumpeter Charles Saenz will perform music by Ravel, Shchedrin, Torelli, Martinu, and Pilss at 8 p.m. in
Bryan Recital Hall in Moore Musical Arts Center.
THURSDAY
Master of Fine Arts students poet Paul Rodgers and fiction writer Eric Schlich will be read from their
work as part of the Prout Chapel Reading Series from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Prout Chapel.
FRIDAY
Photographer Marcella Hackbardt, from Kenyon, Ohio, will discuss her recent works at an ArtTalk from 7 to
8 p.m. in 1101 Fine Arts Center.
SUNDAY
Sunday Matinees at the Gish series will feature a lecture by film historian Dr. Anthony Slide. He will
share insights from his books, including his 75th book, titled "Inside the Hollywood Fan
Magazine." Slide will also speak about Hollywood’s Golden Age and the history of film promotion.
The lecture is from 3 to 4:45 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater in Hanna Hall.
SEPT. 12
Art historian Dr. Timothy D. McCall will give an ArtTalk series presentation on "Fashion, Power, and
Brilliant Male Bodies on Display in 15th-Century Italy" at 7:30 p.m. in 204 Fine Arts Center.
SEPT. 13
The Gish Film Theater will screen a film showcasing pieces from the 49th Ann Arbor Film Festival from
7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Hanna Hall . Among the hundreds of filmmakers represented are Barbara Hammer, Bill
Brown and Paul Winkler.
SEPT. 14
Distinguished Artist Professor John Sampen, saxophone, and Mark Bunce, composer/electronics, will give a
performance featuring the spiritual music of Asia and the Americas as part of the Faculty Artist Series
at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
SEPT. 15
The Student Composer’s Forum will present a concert of work by graduate and undergraduate students at 8
p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
The International Film Series at Gish Theater opens at 7:30 p.m. with the French film "L’ann?©e
Derni?®re ?† Marienbad (Last Year in Marienbad)."
SEPT. 16
Guest Mezzo-soprano Paula Patterson will present a recital at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
AT THE GALLERIES
The "Focus High School Exhibition," an exhibit of work from 201 high school artists from
northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, continues through Sept. 18 at the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery in
the Fine Arts Center.
"Fresh Ohio Exhibition" featuring work by Andy Buck, Bob Lazuka, Ellen Price and Leslie Shiels
will run through Oct. 18 in the Willard Wankleman Gallery of the Fine Arts Center. Gallery hours are 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 6-9 p.m. Thursdays, and from 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
