Big band swings by river

GRAND RAPIDS – The North Coast Big Band will perform a Rhythm on the River Arts Series concert on Sunday
at 4 p.m. in the Wright Pavilion located on the towpath along the Maumee River at the end of Lincoln
Street.
The 16-piece big band, under the direction of Gary Keller, was formed in 1988 by members of the North
Coast Concert Band. The group’s repertoire includes traditional big band music associated with Glenn
Miller, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington as well as some more contemporary pop tunes.
