Plant trials set at Cincinnati Zoo

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Horticulture Department is excited to
announce its first Plant Trials Day at the Zoo! The event, which will take place on Sept. 1, from 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m., will invite guests to attend seminars and information sessions hosted by a variety of
world-renowned industry professional speakers, followed by a reception from 5 to 6 p.m.
All those attending will be invited to participate in the discussions as well mingle and bid on rare and
outstanding plants in the silent auction.
It is the hope to make this an annual event.
An all day pass for Plant Trails Day will be $45 per person which includes the all day information
sessions, catered lunch and reception, and parking pass. The Cincinnati Zoo’s Director of Horticulture
Steve Foltz, Bill Hendricks of Klyn Nurseries, Paul Cappiello of Yew Dell Gardens, Jim Nau of Ball
Ornamentals, Steve Castorani of North Creek Nurseries and John Gaydos of Proven Winners, will be hosting
the sessions.
Hosts will discuss everything from the zoo’s best annuals, perennials, grasses, bamboo and woody plants
to the "Art and Business of Plant Trialing."
