Woman’s Club to host Saturday yard sale
The Woman’s Club of Bowling Green will hold a yard sale this Saturday to benefit their community service
projects and scholarship. The sale will be held at the Women’s Clubhouse at 134 N. Prospect St., from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m.
Among the items available will be jewelry, paintings, kitchen items, accessories (scarves, etc.), small
appliances, knick-knacks, lamps, CDs, toys, silver items such as coffee pots and platters, VHS tapes,
holiday decorations, and more.
Organized in 1920, the BG club’s current projects include collection of dimes for the March of Dimes,
support of the Cocoon Shelter, a creative writing contest for elementary and high school students (now
in its 29th year), scholarship for a Bowling Green High School student, knitted caps for newborns, a
scholarship for a music major at Bowling Green State University, litter pick up, donation of funds to
purchase flags at the Four Corners in honor of the National Guard Unit deployed to Iraq, collection of
food for the food pantry, support of the Wood County Public Library, and literacy.
Singles dance Friday
TOLEDO – Glass City Singles will host a dance for area adult singles on Friday from 8 p.m. until midnight
at Gladieux Meadows, 4480 Heatherdowns Drive.
It will include a free pizza bar, a birthday celebration for August birthdays and $1 off the $8 admission
for all women wearing capris who arrive before 8:30. There will also be a free-style dance competition
with $25 prizes.
