Tickets on sale for inaugural DePue Brothers fiddle contest

Tickets for the inaugural DePue Brothers’ International Fiddler Competition" and related shows to be
held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in the Bowling Green Performing Arts Center are on sale.
The event features the competition accredited by the National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Association as well as
two evening concerts that will bring together the DePue Brothers – Wallace Jr., Alex, Jason and Zachary
– and special guests.
The preliminary rounds of the competition will begin at 1 p.m. and continue at the concert 7 p.m.
Featured artists on that concert will be Alex DePue and guitarist Miguel De Hoyos. The finals will be
held Saturday at 7 p.m. with featured performers The DePue Brothers. Their father 78-year-old Wallace
DePue Sr. will celebrate his birthday on Oct. 1. The DePues will also be joined by The Bistodeau Family
Band.
The contest will award more than $13,000 in prize money. Its goals, according to organizers, is to
promote fiddling culture and an appreciation of fiddling history as well as "expand upon
traditional styles and promote a new and progressive direction" for fiddling.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit to Bowling Green’s public school music programs.
All four brothers are graduates of Bowling Green High School.
Tickets for the evening shows are $26 with a separate admission for preliminary rounds Friday afternoon.
They will be available at The Copy Shop, 117 E. Court St., Bowling Green. For tickets contact:
