Folksingers to perform outside concert at Way

PERRYSBURG – Way Public Library will wrap up its Adult Summer Reading Program with an outdoor concert
featuring folk singers Jackie and Gary on the library grounds Friday at 7 p.m.
The program, "Singing the Good Old Songs Again," will include classic and original folk songs
and a lot of audience interaction. The duo’s repertoire includes songs by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger,
Gordon Light foot, John Denver, the Kingston Trio and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Jackie Davidson performed with the Grammy Award winning The New Christy Minstrels during the folk music’s
hey day. With fellow performer Gayle Caldwell, Davidson left the Minstrels to perform as Jackie and
Gayle with performances on "Shindig," "Hullabaloo," "The Red Skelton Show"
and the "Tonight" show.
After joining the re-united New Christy Minstrels in 2005, Jackie performed with them until a year ago,
when she and Gary Brandt began to perform as Jackie and Gary.
Gary Brandt, a Michigan native, carries on the tradition of folk music with a 12-string guitar, humorous
stories, song-writing, and singing. A retired educator and coach, he now performs full-time and has
composed songs and performed across the country.
