Organizations: Troy-Webster Legion Auxiliary (05-14-11)

LUCKEY – Twelve members and one guest were present at the May meeting, led by President Lila James.
Guest Rob Thornton, representing the area Boy Scouts stated that a camp out is planned for Aug. 12-14,
with all three meals dutch oven. He seeks three people to judge each meal. In ten years, they plan to
move this activity to Basic Park and use it as a fund raiser. A Mexican style lunch is planned and a
meat and potato pasta dish dinner at 5:15 p.m. All legion and auxiliary members are invited to attend.

Education chairman Eloise Brinker reported purchasing gift cards to Books-a-million that will be given
out during an award ceremony to students most improved in reading. $50 was given to Luckey Elementary
for music and supplies $146 was given to the school’s library and music areas.
Shirley Davis reported that the unit has 160 paid members, 15 short of the goal of 175.
Conference is June 4 at Conn-Weisenberger.
Laurel Daman submitted a $338 estimate for a new stage curtain, with installation included. Members OK’d
the project.
