PERRYSBURG TWP. – The cause of a fire at a Chrysler plant in the Township Friday morning is under
investigation.
According to Perrysburg Township Fire Chief Tom Brice, the fire, occurring at the Chrysler Toledo
Machining Plant, 8000 Chrysler Drive, was reported at 11:22 a.m. Perrysburg Township fire crews
responded, with Perrysburg City and Rossford crews providing mutual aid.
Brice said that the fire, which was in one of the machines on the production floor and may have started
in the duct work above, was largely out by the time crews arrived. Fire personnel ventilated the plant
and searched for hot spots to ensure the flames did not extend further into the duct work.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and Brice was not able to provide an estimate of the
cost of the damage.
No injuries were reported.
Crews were on-scene for less than an hour.
