Harris benefit is Saturday
TONTOGANY – A spaghetti dinner benefit for Bob Harris is set for Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Lybarger
Grimm American Legion Hall in Tontogany.
The meal will include a salad and roll. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.
Tickets will be available at the door. Adult beverages and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

A silent auction will start at 4 p.m. and a live auction with auctioneer Steve Powell will begin at 6:30
p.m. There also will be 50-50 drawings.
Harris, a veteran, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2008, and with prostate and lung cancer in September
2010. He is undergoing chemotherapy, and proceeds from the benefit will go toward medical bills.
VFW Post 1148
election Monday
Bowling Green VFW Post No. 1148 will hold an election of officers Monday night at 7.
Dance benefits Habitat for Humanity
A Community Contradance fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity will be held Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at
the old church building, 123 E. Court St. in downtown Bowling Green.
The Cellar String Band will perform and Barry Dupen from Indiana will serve as the caller. The dance will
start with a half-hour beginners session.
Suggested donation is $5, and $2 for students.
Open house for Paulette
The Wood County District Public Library Board of Trustees and library staff will host an open house
Sunday in honor of library director Elaine Paulette’s retirement.
The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. in the library atrium.
Remarks are at 2:30. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.

Perrysburg Twp. crash sends two women to hospital
PERRYSBURG – Two women were taken to an area hospital following a crash Monday at Oregon Road and Third
Street.
According to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at noon Heather Kohne, Maumee, driving a
2008 Pontiac, was stopped eastbound on Third Street at the intersection and attempted to turn onto
Oregon Road when she was struck by Christopher Hutchison, Toledo, driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am.
Hutchison was southbound on Oregon Road and had failed to stop for a stop sign.
Kohne and her passenger, Ashley Coutcher, Toledo, were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, by
Perrysburg Township EMS with non-incapacitating injuries.
Hutchison was cited for right of way from a stop sign.
Blood drive Saturday
Several American Red Cross Blood drives are scheduled for Wood County in the next couple weeks.
On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a blood drive will be at Trinity Grace Brethren Church, 4035 Williston
Road, Northwood.
