MILLBURY – A Lake Township police cruiser damaged earlier this year by an alleged drunk driver will be
repaired.
Township trustees voted at Tuesday’s meeting to pay $2,398 to Jay’s Body Shop, Millbury, for repairs to
the 2004 Crown Victoria.
Police Chief Mark Hummer said insurance would cover the cost.
The cruiser was damaged Jan. 26 at 9:50 p.m. on Main Street, Walbridge.
Kenneth Simon, 40, Walbridge, driving a Mercury Sable, reportedly failed to yield from a private drive
and struck the township police cruiser driven by Cpl. Make Leslie, 45, Millbury, which was southbound on
Main Street.
No injuries were reported.
Simon was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, and failing to yield the right of way.
Hummer said the Ohio Highway Patrol was called to investigate the crash report.
