Mary Jeanette Stefanka, 78, of rural Van Buren, died on Monday, April 4, 2011, at her residence.
She was born on July 8, 1932, in Bloomdale to the late R. Lester and Lois (Wilson) Hosley. She married
Joseph Anthony Stefanka on November 21, 1959, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2009.
She is survived by her children: Anna Marie (Walter, Jr.) Chambers of Van Buren, Paul (Cara) Stefanka of
Cygnet and Robert A. (Kim) Stefanka of North Baltimore; a brother, Ronald Hosley of North Baltimore; a
sister, Coral (Hugh) McCoy of North Baltimore; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were brothers: F. Eugene Hosley and James Hosley.
Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society and
helped with the funeral dinners.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and had worked at Wood County Hospital and Blakely Care Center where
she retired in 1986. She was a former member of the LPNAO.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing and crocheting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic
Church, North Baltimore, with Father JR Hadnagy celebrant. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery,
North Baltimore. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL
HOME, North Baltimore, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m.
