A Fostoria man is dead following a crash Tuesday afternoon northwest of Arcadia, in Hancock County.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, at 2:41 p.m. Oscar Casiano, 54, was driving eastbound
on County Road 109 when he was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet four-door driven by Carol McAfee, 59, who was
southbound on Township Road 243. McAfee reportedly had stopped for a stop sign at the intersection and
then proceeded to cross C.R. 109.
Casiano’s vehicle, a 1999 Pontiac van, was struck in the driver’s side, causing it to spin sideways. It
then rolled more than three times before coming to rest.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Casiano was pronounced dead at the scene.
McAfee was transported by Med-Corp EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, for treatment of possible
injuries
