New York-based jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin will perform with the faculty jazz combo at One49 North,
149 N. Main Street, Bowling Green Wednesday starting at 8:30 p.m.
Since 2006, McCaslin has been a member of trumpeter Dave Douglas’ quintet as well as the Maria Schneider
Orchestra.
He has also produced 10 recordings under his own name, often mixing Latin strains within innovative
compositional structures.
His most recent recording is "Perpetual Motion" on Greenleaf Music. The session, according to
his website, mixes "angular, post-bop, polyphonic funk" and "ethereal balladry."
In Bowling Green, he will perform with Dave Bixler, alto saxophone, Chris Buzzelli, guitar, Jeff Haley,
bass, and Roger Schupp, drums.
