TODAY
"Street Fight," a 2005 documentary about the mayoral race in Newark, N.J., will be screened at
7 p.m. in Gish Film Theater in Hanna Hall.
Winners of the Dr. Marjorie Conrad Peatee Art Song Competition will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. in the
Manor House of Toledo’s Wildwood Metropark. Performing will be undergraduates Melissa Penkava,
mezzo-soprano and Jacintha Ratnasamy, piano, and graduate students Christine Amon, mezzo-soprano and
Heidi Clausius, piano.
Guitar ensembles, directed by Christopher Buzzelli, will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the
Moore Musical Arts Center.
WEDNESDAY
The Trumpet Ensemble, directed by Charles Saenz, will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
THURSDAY
"Maratha Temples," an exhibit by Ashutosh Sohoni, opens in Bowen-Thompson Student Union Art
Gallery. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays..
BGSU alumna Philana Boles, a Toledo native, will read from her work at 7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel. Boles
has written four novels, and before they were published worked in the development office for director
Spike Lee’s production company and for Glamour magazine.
In "La Isla: Archivos de Una Tragedia," a 2009 film from Germany and Guatemala, director Uli
Stelzne uses a newly unearthed police archive containing millions of documents showing the involvement
of the police, army and paramilitary in the murders of hundreds of thousands of Guatemalan civilians –
mostly Mayans – during the 1960-96 conflict.
A pre-concert lecture on Festival Series performers River North Chicago Dance Company will be given at
7:15 in Bryan Recital Hall.
The River North Chicago Dance Company will perform at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts

FRIDAY
The A Cappella Choir, directed by Tim Cloeter, and Collegiate Chorale, directed by Sandra Frey Stegman,
will perform at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall.
SATURDAY
A Young People’s Concert, Renaissance Festival featuring the Collegiate Chorale and special guests. will
be presented at 11 a.m. in Bryan Recital Hall. Admission is $1 for children and $2 for adults. For more

SUNDAY
A special concert honoring former BGSU director of jazz activities and professor of flute David Melle
will take place at 3 p.m. in Kobacker Hall. The free concert will feature performances by the Jazz Lab
Band, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the Dave Melle Alumni Jazz Band and special guests 6th Edition. For

Special guest Dr. Ben Urish, a faculty member and comedy historian at Michigan State University, will
host a selection of Buster Keaton sound era comedy shorts at the Gish Film Theater in Hanna Hall. The
shorts feature Keaton doing pieces of the vaudeville act he had performed with his family, plus the
rarely seen "A Paradise for Buster," from 1952.

The Graduate String Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Manor House of Toledo’s Wildwood Metropark.

The Early Music Ensemble, directed by Dr. Mary Natvig, will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
APRIL 13
World Percussion Night will feature the Hayabusa Taiko Ensemble, Kasuma Sari Gamelan and the
Afro-Caribbean Ensemble at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall.
