Library concert celebrates sounds of the atrium

When the Wood County Public Library installed a Steinway grand piano in the atrium in 2006 it signaled
that the space was a place for music, and not just using the piano.
A short musical performance Sunday at 1:30 p.m. will celebrate the atrium as a music venue with a
strings, horns and piano.
The performers range from a local junior high student to professionals.
The program will include:
¥ Gina Buzzelli, violin, and Andrew Zeller, viola, performing a setting of "Passacaglia" by
George Frideric Handel.
¥ Amy Fan performing a solo piano piece by Mendelssohn.
¥ Annika Schempf, flute, with her father Kevin Schempf, piano, performing the "Chanson" and
"Ostinato" sections of "Suite Antique" by John Rutter.
¥ A trombone ensemble performing an arrangement of the Franz Schubert song "Der Geistertanz (The
Spirit Dance)." Members of the ensemble are: Bill Mathis, Eric Boswell John Gruber, Dan Saygers,
Wynn Rice and David Dupont.
Refreshments will be served.
