Arts council seeks spring art for show
PERRYSBURG – The Perrysburg Area Arts Council is looking for artists to display their work in the Way
Public Library.
The next exhibition will be centered on the idea of "Spring".
Work in the show should be about spring or the concept of rejuvenation and rebirth. Interested artists
should send images and dimensions of their art to: [email protected] by March 25.
The show will run for the month of April.
Children’s choir premieres Brechmacher composition
The Cincinnati Children’s Choir will perform Ryan Brechmacher’s "The Lobster Quadrille" at its
concert Saturday at 4 p.m. Corbett Auditorium at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
The work, based on poetry from Lewis Carroll’s "Alice in Wonderland," will be performed by the
choir’s Bel Canto Choir.
Brechmacher, formerly of Bowling Green, earned his Bachelor of Music degree in both Piano
Performance/Pedagogy and Theory/Composition at Westminster Choir College of Rider University.
Brechmacher has been teaching private piano lessons at Princeton Day School since the Fall of 2007, where
he also serves as the staff accompanist. He also serves as the pianist and worship leader at Hope
Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville, NJ.
Glassworker John Miller exhibit is at Firenation
HOLLAND – Glass artist John Miller will give a demonstration in conjunction with the opening of an
exhibit of his work at Firenation, 7166 Front St. Friday at 7 p.m.
Pieces from his "The Ribcage Vessel Series" and "The Blue Plate Special Series" will
be among the works on exhibit at the studio through May 21.

Dvorak cello concerto on orchestra program
TOLEDO – Cellist Alban Gergardt will be the soloist when the Toledo Symphony orchestra performs Anton
Dvorak’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in The Toledo Museum of Art
Peristyle.
Under the direction of Stefan Sanderling, the orchestra will also perform John Adams’s "Doctor
Atomic Symphony" and Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 7 in C Major.

Studio Connection students perform at piano festival
Students from the The Studio Connection in Bowling Green recently participated in the Ohio Federation of
Music Clubs District IV-A Festival at Heidelberg University.
Ben Scherer, participating in solo piano, was chosen to perform in the honors concert at the conclusion
of the event.
Other participating students in piano solo included: Sania Bauswell, Kathleen Blake, Emma Cavins, Asia
Garrett, Stephanie Hermes, Eric Johnston, John Johnston, Nthabi Kamala, Mary Kettinger, Emily Kapperman,
Jeremy Mahoney, Gavin McCracken, Genevieve Nelson, Cailyn Overhulse and Mary Scherer.
Joseph Evangelista, accompanied by fellow student Kathleen Blake, played in the piano concerto event.
