BG’s Orr named district player of the year (3-10-11)

COLUMBUS — Bowling Green’s Chauncey Orr has been named the Division I Northwest All-District boys
basketball player of the year.
Orr highlights Wood County’s selections to the teams, which were released Thursday and based on the
recommendations of a media panel. The Sentinel-Tribune did not have a vote in the process.
Orr, a senior, was also selected to the first team. Orr was a second-team pick last season.
Highlighting the girls’ selections was Lake senior Kaysie Brittenham, a first-team pick. Brittenham is a
repeat first-team selection.
In Division III boys, Elmwood senior TJ Waldock was named to the second team.
BG’s Xavier Brown was a third-team pick in Division I boys. He was a special mention pick last season.

In Division I girls, Perrysburg junior Kelsea Newman was named to the second team. Newman was a special
mention pick last season.
Also in Division I, Bowling Green junior Hayley Williford was a third-team pick. Williford was a special
mention pick last season.
In Division III girls, Lake senior Carly Huston was a third-team pick.
The following boys earned special mention honors:
Division I — Bowling Green’s Vitto Brown and Perrysburg’s Kevin Schenk; and Division III — Elmwood’s Jay
Hannah and Kevin Hammer, Otsego’s A.C. Limes, and Lakota’s Nick Mcdole. Hannah was a special mention
pick last season.
The following girls earned special mention honors:
Division I — Perrysburg’s Nicole Delas; Division II — Eastwood’s Courtney Rolf; Division III — Rossford’s
Abbey Geraghty, and Lakota’s Jessica Hoffman and Amy Gosche; Division IV — North Baltimore’s Rachel
Flores and Northwood’s Sandy Koch. Gosche and Geraghty were special mention picks last season.
