Renown vocal coach Merrill to coach students at BGSU
Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts will host nationally heralded coach, accompanist
and conductor Ken Merrill on Thursday and Friday.
Merrill, a guest of the McMaster Endowed Professorship in Vocal and Choral Studies, will coach student
voice and piano duos and encourage young artists.
Merrill is a faculty member at the Juilliard School Vocal Arts Department and Manhattan School of Music
where he teaches song repertoire, accompanying, and opera ensemble.
In association with Houston Grand Opera, he assisted in the musical preparation for Rossini’s "La
Cenerentola" with Cecilia Bartoli in the title role. He also played continuo in that performance.

University flutists to perform at BG Brown Bag concert
Flute students from the studio of Nina Assimakopoulos will be featured in the Brown Bag Music Series
concert Friday at 11:45 a.m. at Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave., Bowling Green.
Listeners are invited to bring their own lunch. Drinks and desserts are available for purchase. For

Tickets now on sale for ‘Lend Me a Tenor’
Tickets go on sale today for the Black Swamp Players’ production of the comedy "Lend Me a
Tenor" at Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green. The show will be staged at First
United Methodist Church in Bowling Green March 25 and 26 and April 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. with a matinee on
April 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and $8 for seniors and students.
The Ken Ludwig comedy was rated as one of the five best comedies of all time by BroadwayWorld.com.
Directed and produced by Bob Hastings, the cast features: Lane Hakel, Anne Kidder, Guy Zimmerman, Becky
Hansen, Sara Swisher, Anne Clark, Dan Cota and Zack Lahey.
