Eastwood boys beat Otsego in OT (from 2-26-11)

Eastwood’s boys out-scored Otsego 37-22 after the third quarter to win the Suburban Lakes League game,
69-62 in overtime on Saturday.
In another boys SLL makeup game, Gibsonburg beat Elmwood, 54-47.
In Northern Lakes League boys makeup games, Bowling Green beat Southview, 59-56, OT; and Springfield
defeated Northview, 61-51.
In Midland Athletic League makeup games, it was: Old Fort 54, North Baltimore 38; and New Riegel 69,
Lakota 38.
BOYS
Eastwood 69, Otsego 62, OT
In Luckey, the Eagles made 21-of-23 free throws (91 percent) and Jake Faykosh hit a 3-pointer with two
seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.
Jake Faykosh lead all players with 21 points, while Justin Faykosh scored 15 points, Jake Schmeltz had
12, and Caleb Vespi added 11 for Eastwood. The Eagles finish the regular season 8-12 overall and 7-5 in
the SLL, tied for second with Gibsonburg and Lake.
Drake Johnson led Otsego (6-14, 4-8) with 17 points. A.C. Limes added 13 points, Ryan Smoyer scored 12,
and Tommy Rodgers chipped in with 10 points for the Knights.
Gibsonburg 54, Elmwood 47
In Gibsonburg, the Golden Bears got 22 points and seven rebounds from Nate Yarborough to knock off SLL
champion Elmwood, 54-47, in a makeup game.
Gibsonburg finishes the regular season 10-10 overall and 7-5 in the SLL while the Royals are 14-5, 10-2.

Gibsonburg led 10-4 at the end of the first quarter.
Gage Beaber added 11 points and five assists for Gibsonburg.
TJ Waldock and Jay Hannah each scored 15 points and had eight rebounds for Elmwood while Waldock added
three steals. Jack Waldock finished with seven points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Springfield 61, Northview 51
In Holland, Leroy Alexander (22) and Chester McFadden (18) combined for 40 points in Springfield’s NLL
win.
Austin Schmidt scored 13 points for Northview.
Springfield is 14-6 overall and finishes 9-5 in the NLL. Northview is 4-16, 2-12.
Old Fort 54, North Baltimore 38
In Old Fort, Roman Ream scored 19 points to lead Old Fort to a MAL win over North Baltimore.
Old Fort is 7-13 overall and finishes 5-6 in the MAL. NB is 9-12 and finishes 4-7 in the league.
Mitchell Archer had 10 points for the Tigers.
New Riegel 69, Lakota 38
In Kansas, New Riegel started quickly and never looked back in posting the MAL win.
New Riegel finishes 15-5 overall and 10-1 in the MAL while Lakota is 0-18, 0-11.
A total of 10 different players scored for new Riegel led by Cody Kinn’s 13 points.
Nick McDole scored 13 points and added nine rebounds for Lakota.
