Prep Roundup: Northview girls win NLL title (02-21-11)

Northview defeated Bowling Green, 72-45, to clinch the outright Northern Lakes League girls basketball
title Saturday.
In other games in the NLL, it was: Perrysburg 36, Rossford 26; Anthony Wayne 34, Southview 31; and Maumee
50, Springfield 37.
In a non-league girls game, Lakota topped Elmwood, 51-46.
In boys non-league games, it was: Defiance 53, Rossford 31; Otsego 49, Liberty Center 34; and Maumee
Valley 57, North Baltimore 39.
GIRLS
Northview 72, BGHS 45
In Sylvania, the Wildcats out-scored Bowling Green, 44-22 in the middle two quarters on the way to the
NLL victory and league title. Northview finished 17-3 overall and 13-1 in the NLL.
Jessica Jessing led Northview with 17 points.
Hayley Williford scored 15 points and Hayley Glandorff added 12 for the Bobcats, 11-9 overall and 5-9 in
the NLL.
Anthony Wayne 34, Southview 31
In Whitehouse, Anthony Wayne slipped past Southview Saturday.
The Generals, 15-5 overall, were third in the NLL at 11-3. Southview finished 11-9, 8-6.
Emma Ricketts scored 10 points for AW.
Taylor Hall and Kelsey Whaley each had 10 points for Southview.
Maumee 50, Springfield 37
In Holland, Maumee scored 21 points in the second quarter on the way to the NLL win.
The Panthers finished 4-16, 2-12 and Springfield is 3-16, 1-13.
Katie Butler scored 20 points and Eliza Theaker 16 for the Panthers. Brianna Nix had 13 for the Blue
Devils.
Lakota 51, Elmwood 46
In Kansas, Lakota rallied in the fourth quarter to post the non-league win over Elmwood.
Lakota is 5-14 and Elmwood is 4-16.
Dani Chaffee scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds for Lakota, Amy Gosche scored 12 points and Jessica
Hoffman added 10 rebounds.
Reagan Briggs scored 17 points for Elmwood.
BOYS
Defiance 53, Rossford 31
In Rossford, Defiance scored 33 points in the second half on the way to the non-league win over Rossford.

Mitchell Stewart scored 11 points and Josh Perry added 10 for Rossford, 3-16 overall.
Anthony Kidston had 12 points, Shea Murray 11, and Tory Guilliam 10 for Defiance.
Otsego 49, Liberty Center 34
In Tontogany, Tommy Rodgers scored 15 points and added three assists to help Otsego post the non-league
win.
A.C. Limes added 12 points and seven rebounds, Drake Johnson scored 11 points and Sam Forshey had 10
rebounds for the Knights, 6-12 overall.
Maumee Valley 57,
North Baltimore 39
In Toledo, Maumee Valley rolled past North Baltimore in a non-league game.
Maumee Valley is 15-3 and NB is 8-11.
Clinton Ebright led NB with 12 points. Rick Deichert and Jared Sturt each had 14 points for the Hawks.
