BGHS hockey shuts out Southview (2-18-11)

SYLVANIA — Bowling Green scored eight times in the first period Saturday on the way to an 11-0 win over
Southview in the first round of the district high school hockey playoffs at Tam-O-Shanter.
The Bobcats added three goals in the second period and the game was called after 30 minutes because of
the 10-goal mercy rule.
Justin McCarty scored three goals and Dylan Graves added two for the Bobcats, who held a 47-10 edge in
shots.
Jake DeWitt, Mason Mayberry, Dakota Bell, Reid Mankowski, Spencer Calcamuggio and Rob Tyrrell had the
other BG goals.
Nate Gay was in goal for the shutout.
The Bobcats, 8-16-4 overall, play seventh-ranked St. John’s (21-10-2) in the quarterfinals Wednesday
night at 6.
