Scott Thomas, Bowling Green’s all-purpose wing, has made himself the focal point of opposing defenses
this season.
A junior, Thomas is the only player in the Mid-American Conference to rank in the top 10 in the league in
both rebounding, sixth at 6.8 per game and assists, 10th at 3.3 assists per game.
He is also among the top 10 in the conference in steals (55), assist/turnover ratio (80-60), defensive
rebounds (113), and minutes played (34.3 per game)
Thomas has been held to 17 points in the last two games, but is still averaging a team-high 11.7 ppg.
"There is a certain amount of physicality towards Scott. They (opposing defenses) challenge him a
little more in our offense," BG head coach Louis Orr said. "He’s a guy teams have to deal
with, whether it’s scoring, rebounding (or) assists."
BG starts its final five-game swing through the MAC East, hosting Akron tonight with tipoff at 7.
Tonight is Youth Basketball Night with $4 ticket for youth players wearing jerseys, and Community Day
with $6 general admission tickets for Bowling Green residents.
SCOUTING AKRON: Akron has won three straight and is 15-10 overall and 6-5 in the MAC East, one game
behind the Falcons. The Zips are coming off a 75-60 win over Ball State.
Nikola Cvetinovic, a 6-foot-8 junior, leads the Zips at 11.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
The Zips attempt just over 23 3-pointers per game but can also go inside to Zeke Marshall, 7-0 sophomore,
who averages 9.6 points per game, while shooting 54 percent, and who has blocked 60 shots on the year.

The Zips posted a 73-68 win in the first meeting with the Falcons this season.
Bowling Green has lost six straight games to Akron at home and has not beaten the Zips in Anderson Arena
since 2003.
