Wayne library closed Thursday
WAYNE – Wayne Public Library will close Wednesday at 5 p.m. and reopen Friday at 10 a.m. due to a death
in the library family.
Interim dog warden named
The Wood County Commissioners announced today that Andrew Snyder has been named Interim Chief Dog Warden,
effective February 14, 2011. Snyder has worked at the Wood County Dog Shelter since 2005 as a Deputy Dog
Warden. He is a certified euthanasia technician and serves as a deputy team leader on the Ohio Region 1
Disaster Animal Response Team (DART). Besides his experience at the Shelter, Snyder holds a bachelors
degree in information technology from Kaplan University.
Revolutionary Detroit is Fort Meigs topic
PERRYSBURG – Dr. Denver Brunsman, assistant professor of history at Wayne State University, will present
"Revolutionary Detroit: The Making of a British Loyalist Stronghold" on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
in the Fort Meigs visitor center. The presentation is free and open to the public.
In 2009, Brunsman led a community service learning project on the history of Detroit during the American
revolutionary era. The project resulted in the "Revolutionary Detroit" publication. For his
presentation, Brunsman will discuss both the project and the experience of Detroit as a British loyalist
stronghold during the revolutionary era.
