Northwood wrestlers finish fourth
Northwood was fourth in the seven-team Ohio Wrestling League tournament Saturday.
Arcadia edged McComb, 149-148, for the team title. Northwood finished with 921â„2 points.
Northwood’s Brandon Kretz (119) won his second league title while Tyler Mack (135) and Daniel Prothero
(171) also won titles.
Also for Northwood, Nick Lang (112) and Matt Schlicher (125) were each second.
Lakota fourth, NB seventh in MAL wrestling
In Fremont, Carey won just one individual title, buts its depth was enough to win the Midland Athletic
League title Saturday. Carey finished with 167 points and Mohawk was second at 148.
Lakota finished fourth with 109 points and North Baltimore was seventh with 401â„2 points.
The Raiders had two individual champions – Stephen Klotz (215) and Jarett Smith (285).
Klotz beat Carey’s Brandon Fausnaugh, 7-0 in the final. Smith pinned Carey’s Alex Damschroder in 5:03 to
claim the title.
North Baltimore’s Dalton Ishmael (189) beat Carey’s David Walker, 17-1 in the title match.
Also for Lakota, Ben Timmons (119) was second, dropping a 6-5 decision in the final and Bryan Swartz
(140) was also second. The Raiders’ Tiger Jason (152) was third while Spencer Sprow (160) and Dillon
Stahl (171) were both fourth.
For NB, Josh Meggitt (135) was second.

Lake defeated Gibsonburg, 46-31. Leaders for Lake, now 11-0, were: Aaron Witt, 13 points; Brandyn Neal,
12 points; and Adam Duncan, 10 points.
EIGHTH GRADE
BOYS BASKETBALL
Lake improved to 10-1 with a 43-40 overtime win over Gibsonburg. Leaders for Lake were: Jared Rettig, 16
points; Connor Bowen, 11 points; and Todd Walter, seven points.
