Prep Basketball: Otsego girls beat Elmwood (2-8-11)

Morgan McCullough scored eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter Tuesday to help Otsego come from
behind for a 65-61 win over Elmwood in a Suburban Lakes League game.
Elmwood held a 48-44 lead after three quarters.
In other SLL girls games, it was: Lake 52, Gibsonburg 19; and Genoa 44, Woodmore 37.
In girls non-league games, it was: Perrysburg 71, Bowsher, 40; and Fostoria 78, Lakota 48.
In a girls Northern Lakes League makeup game, Northview beat Springfield, 74-36.
In boys Northern Lakes League games, it was: Bowling Green 72, Southview 58; and Springfield 65,
Northview 45.
In an SLL boys makeup game, Elmwood topped Genoa, 70-33.
In a Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys game, Cardinal Stritch defeated Northwood, 56-45.
And in non-league boys games, it was: Eastwood 56, Rossford 54; and Cory-Rawson 68, Lakota 41.
GIRLS
Otsego 65, Elmwood 61
In Tontogany, Micaela Murphy added 14 points and Hannah Greulich had 13 points and 10 rebounds as Otsego
improved to 7-12 overall and 5-6 in the SLL.
Otsego’s Kylee Bernthisel made five steals.
Elmwood (3-13, 3-7) had three players score in double figures — Sierra Beckford led the way with 22,
followed by Brittany Gross with 12 and Reagan Briggs with 10.
Genoa 44, Woodmore 35
In Elmore, Genoa pulled away in the fourth quarter after the game was tied at 25 entering the final eight
minutes.
Brandi Schimming and Alyssa Meis each had 11 points for Genoa (17-1, 8-1).
For Woodmore (10-8, 7-4), Kalyn Tate scored 14 points and Chelsea Garver had 10.
Perrysburg 71, Bowsher 40
In Perrysburg, Kelsea Newman and Kayla VanderVlucht each had 14 points as the Yellow Jackets improved to
14-2.
Taylor Knight added 10 points for Perrysburg and Nicole Delas scored 10.
Delas had eight rebounds and four assists, while VanderVlucht had eight rebounds and Newman had six
assists.
Fostoria 78, Lakota 48
In Kansas, Veronica Wonderly scored a single-game school record 46 points as Fostoria improved to 4-13.

Wonderly had 22 points in the fourth quarter when Fostoria pulled away from a 47-40 lead after three
periods.
She made 16 field goals, including 15 two-pointers, and 13 free throws to break the previous record of 45
points set by Asa Hall.
Jessica Hoffman had 11 points for Lakota (4-11).
Northview 74, Springfield 36
In Sylvania, Miriam Justinger scored 16 points, Tori Busby had 14 and Jessica Jessing added 13 as
Northview remained undefeated in the NLL.
The Wildcats are 15-2 overall and 11-0 in the NLL.
Springfield is 3-11, 1-9.
BOYS
Elmwood 70, Genoa 33
In Genoa, TJ Waldock 18 points and eight rebounds as Elmwood ran its record to 12-3, 8-1.
Also for the Royals, Kevin Hammer had 13 points and Tyler Rosendale added 11. Jack Waldock had seven
rebounds, six assists and three steals for Elmwood.
Tyler Pickard had 10 points for Genoa (6-8, 1-7).
Eastwood 56, Rossford 54
In Luckey, Jake Schmeltz made a 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds left to give Eastwood the win.
Cody Jennings led Eastwood (5-9) with 16 points.
Mitchell Stewart scored 20 points and Josh Perry had 10 for Rossford (3-13).
Springfield 65, Northview 45
In Sylvania, Leroy Alexander scored a game-high 22 points as Springfield moved to 11-5, 7-4.
Chester McFadden scored 13 points for Springfield and Jeremy Weemes had 12.
Northview (2-13, 1-10) was led by Austin Schmidt’s 14 points.
Cory-Rawson 68, Lakota 41
In Rawson, Tyler Harris scored 19 points as the Hornets improved to 5-10.
Ryan Chalfin paced Lakota (0-14) with 15 points.
Cardinal Stritch 56, Northwood 45
In Oregon, Stritch out-scored Northwood at the free-throw line by a 23-4 margin.
Tyler Williams scored 10 points for Northwood (3-13, 2-7), which held a 29-24 lead at the half. Stritch
is 4-12, 3-7.
