Falcon tennis tops Cincinnati
PERRYSBURG – The Bowling Green women’s tennis team defeated Cincinnati, 5-2 on Saturday. The match was
played at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
BG is 5-2 in dual matches this season.
Kent State gymnasts beat Falcons
Kent State defeated Bowling Green 194.925-188.975 in Mid-American Conference gymnastics action Sunday in
Anderson Arena. BG is 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the MAC.
BG’s top finish was a tie for third by Kasey Fillmore on the balance beam.
Due to injuries, the Falcons had only five gymnasts compete in the meet.
Falcon track competes at Notre Dame
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Bowling Green’s women’s track and field team competed at the Notre Dame Meyo
Invitational. No team scores were kept.
BG’s Jeanette Pettigrew had the highlight of the event for the Falcons, taking fourth in the 60-meter
dash in a time of 7.52 seconds. Her time was .01 seconds behind the school record set by Jessica White
in 2007. Pettigrew also took fourth in the 200 in a time of 24.96.
Also for BG, Ashley Harris was eighth in the shot put with a throw of 14.6 meters.
Owens women win
DAYTON – The Owens Community College women’s basketball team defeated Sinclair, 78-68 on Saturday.
The Express, ranked 19 in NJCAA Division II, is 21-4 overall and 6-1 in the Ohio Community College
Athletic Conference.
Leaders for Owens were: Aja Hall, 19 points, seven rebounds; Saige Meyer, 18 points; and Brittany Morris,
14 points, seven rebounds.
Owens men lose
DAYTON – Owens’ men’s basketball team fell to Sinclair, 79-69 on Saturday.
The Express are 8-16 overall and 2-5 in the OCCAC.
Leaders for Owens were: Kendall Frank, 15 points; Tommy Kralovic, 13 points, five rebounds, four assists;
Cal Edwards, 11 points; and Craig Short, 10 points, 12 rebounds. Kralovic is a Rossford High School
graduate.
