Two former Falcons to play in Super Bowl
A former Bowling Green Falcon is assured of a Super Bowl championship ring when Green Bay plays
Pittsburgh on Feb. 6.
Linebacker Diryal Briggs is with the Packers and place-kicker Shaun Suisham is with the Steelers.
Falcon tennis tops W. Virginia
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bowling Green State University women’s tennis team evened its record at 1-1 with a
6-1 victory over West Virginia on Saturday. The match was held at the University of Louisville.
BG runners finish eight
KENT – Bowling Green’s women’s indoor track and field team was eighth at the All-Ohio championships over
the weekend.
Cincinnati won the 16-team meet with 119 points. The Falcons scored 30 points.
Jeanette Pettigrew led the Falcons with a second-place finish in the 60 (7.60).
Also for BG, Tatijana Jacobson was third in the high jump with a leap of 5-07.25 (1.71 meters) and Ashley
Harris was fourth in the shot put. Harris’ effort of 47-06.25 (14.48 meters) fell less than a foot shy
of the winning mark.
NIU downs BG gymnastics
DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois defeated Bowling Green, 188.675-186.600 in a Mid-American Conference
gymnastics meet Sunday.
The Falcons did come away with three individual wins, led by Sunny Marchand, who finished first on the
vault (9.750) and floor (9.750). Monica Eaton was the top competitor on the uneven bars (9.775).
BG is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the MAC.
Owens women edge Cleveland State club team
The Owens Community College women’s basketball team edge Cleveland State’s club team, 85-83 on Saturday.

Jasmine Blanton led the Express, now 18-4 overall and ranked No. 19 in he NJCAA Division II poll, with 21
points.
Other leaders for Owens were: Aja Hall, 18 points; Karrah Windau, 15 points; Nasumbi Bear, 11 points; and
Brittany Morris, 10 points.
