John L. Postlethwait, age 59, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Mercy St.
Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH.
On May 17, 1951 he was born in New Martinsville, WV to John and Wilda (Dunham) Postlethwait. He married
Kathleen S. Hamilton in Grove City, PA on May 17, 1997 and she survives.
John was a master-mechanic for International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18, Toledo, OH, from 1990
until 2010. He was also a certified welder and had worked on various pipe lines.
In his spare time he enjoyed tractor pulls, fishing, racing hydroplane boats in WV and was an avid NASCAR
fan with Dale Earnhardt Sr. being his favorite driver. John especially loved his family, many pets and
special Chihuahua: Lilly.
John is survived by his wife: Kathy, sons: Terry (Brittney) Shaner of Eaton, OH, Seth (Elisha) Shaner of
Weston, OH, Jason Postlethwait of LA, John C. Postlethwait of WV, grandchildren: Logan Shaner, Trenton
Shaner, Sophie Shaner and mother: Wilda Postlethwait of New Martinsville, WV.
He was preceded in death by his father: John Postlethwait and brother: Ronald Postlethwait.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home,
4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 22,
2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Eisenhour Cemetery, Pemberville, OH.
