Prep Roundup – Northview shuts out Bobcat icers for 1-15-11

Sixth-ranked Northview scored all of the game’s goals in a five-minute span of the second period Friday
for a 3-0 win over Bowling Green in the Bethel Park (Pa.) high school hockey tournament.
The Wildcat goals were scored by Nolan Culver just 53 seconds into the period on the power play, Ryan
LaPlante at 2:43 and Sam Booth at 5:05.
Northview dominated with a 45-9 edge in shots. BG’s Nick Morris made 42 saves.
BG is 7-10-2, while Northview improved to 12-6-2.
The Bobcats finish the round-robin portion of the tournament today with games against Olentangy and North
Allegheny.
The semifinals and championship game are Sunday.

Eastwood avenges loss
At Varsity Lanes, Eastwood improved to 9-1 overall and 8-0 in the Sandusky Bay Area Bowling Conference
Friday with a 3,044-2,527 win over Clyde.
John Przybylski led Eastwood with games of 235 and 215 for a 450 total, while Kyle Waynick had games of
225 and 196 for a 421 total.
On Thursday, Eastwood avenged its only loss posting a 3,192-2,932 win over Sandusky at Varsity Lanes.
Przybylski had games of 243 and 241 to total 484 as he led Eastwood. Tommy Blanchard and Waynick each
shot 417, with Blanchard having a 243 game and Waynick, 234.
Bobcats top Maumee
At Al-Mar Lanes, Bowling Green out-scored Perrysburg, 2,556-2,366, The Bobcats, 4-1 overall and 3-1 in
the Northern Lakes League, built a lead in the regulation games with 1,008 and 1,011, then held on for
the win. The Yellow Jackets (1-3, 1-3) shot 877 and 942.
Juan Ybanes led BG with games of 215 and 225 for 440, while Ryan Chesser added a 223 for 425. Nick Jenne
rolled a 226, while Cameron Walter had a 225 game. Jeremy Ashley was high for Perrysburg with a 248 game
for 427.
Rossford beats AW
At Rossford, the host team defeated Anthony Wayne, 2,507-2,045.
Rossford (4-1, 3-1) was led by Cory Zalesak with a 242 game and 428 total; and Jake Cook, 215, 407.
GIRLS BOWLING
Eastwood remains undefeated
At Varsity Lanes, Eastwood won twice to remain undefeated with records of 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the
SBABC.
On Friday, Eastwood was a 2,548-1,942 winner over Clyde.
Mikayla Young had games of 180 and 197 for a 3778 total for Eastwood, and Brandi Roller added games of
142 and 191 for a 333 total.
On Thursday, Eastwood topped Sandusky, 2,552-2,327. The Eagles are 7-0, 6-0.
Roller led the Eagles with games of 190 and 175 for 365; while Jessica Young added a pair of 181 games.

Junior varsity results
BOYS BOWLING
Eastwood defeated Sandusky, 2,317-2,134; and Clyde, 2,273-1,894.
Against Sandusky, Eastwood was led by John Fredericks, who recorded a 278 game and 449 total.
Against Clyde, Fredericks had a 369 total on games of 180 and 189. Eastwood is 7-1 overall and 6-1 in the
conference.
Rossford defeated Anthony Wayne, 1,771-1,652. Chase Bitz led the Bulldogs with a 334 total.
Bowling Green downed Perrysburg 2,234-1,817. Tyler Desmond, 224, 381, and Justin Overhulse, 217, 3,79,
led BG; while Josh Siebert led Perrysburg with 202, 319.
GIRLS BOWLING
Eastwood beat Clyde, 1,724-1,187. Eastwood’s Sarah Knott had games of 141 and 171 for a 312 total.
