Abduction at Owens was targeted, not random

(Updated at 10:12 a.m. 1-14) PERRYSBURG – An abduction that took place on the Owens Community College
campus in Perrysburg Township Wednesday was “not random, but was targeted,” the Owens Director of Public
Safety and Chief of Police John Betori said this morning.
Betori said the suspects are known to the victim and there has apparently been some past conflict among
the individuals. He said no clear motive had been established as of this morning. The male subject who
reported the incident was not injured.
According to earlier information on the Owens police website the victim reported that he was forced into
a vehicle at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday by a person in the vehicle that brandished a handgun. He escaped
sometime Thursday.
