Prep basketball roundup from 1-8-11: Elmwood downs Van Buren

T.J. Waldock and Jay Hannah combined for 38 points and 17 rebounds as Elmwood improved to 7-1 overall
with a 65-57 non-league win over Van Buren Saturday.
In Northern Lakes League boys games it was: Bowling Green 53, Maumee 33; Perrysburg 66, Anthony Wayne 41;
Southview 51, Northview 42, OT;
In other non-league boys games it was: Wauseon 59, Otsego 52; Bettsville 57, Northwood 53; and North
Baltimore 52, Ridgemont 50.
In non-league girls games it was: Oak Harbor 47, Eastwood 45; and North Baltimore 58, Ridgemont 22.
BOYS
Elmwood 65, Van Buren 57
In Jerry City, T.J. Waldock had 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals while Hannah scored
19 points and added seven rebounds for the Royals.
Kevin Hammer chipped in with 10 points for the winners.
Clay Sudlow had 24 points and six rebounds for Van Buren, 6-5.
Wauseon 59, Otsego 52
In Wauseon, Wauseon jumped ahead early, outscoring Otsego, 23-8 in the first quarter on the way to the
non-league win.
Alex Wogen scored 22 points for Wauseon, now 5-3 overall.
A.C, Limes led Otsego, 3-5, with 15 points, Tommy Rodgers added 10 points and five assists and Sam
Forshey had 10 rebounds.
Bettsville 57, Northwood 53
In Northwood, Bettsville out-scored the hosts, 12-2 in the first quarter and then put 24 points on the
board in the fourth quarter to secure the non-league win.
Brandon Butler led three Bettsville players in double figures with 19 points. The Bobcats are 4-5
overall.
David Green led Northwood, 3-6 overall, with 20 points.
North Baltimore 52, Ridgemont 50
In North Baltimore, the Tigers made their free throws down the stretch to edge Ridgemont in a non-league
game.
Clinton Ebright led the Tigers, 3-7, with 13 points and Tyler Schloemp added 11.
Shane Christian led Ridgemont, 2-6, with 17 points.
Southview 51, Northview 42
In Sylvania, Southview out-scored cross-town rival Northview, 11-2 in overtime on the way to the NLL win.
Southview is 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the NLL while Northview is 0-8, 0-6.
Allen Gant led Southview with 17 points.
Conner Hartnett scored 21 points for Northview.
GIRLS
Oak Harbor 47, Eastwood 45
In Luckey. Oak Harbor slipped past Eastwood in a non-league game.
Allison Dunn scored 17 points for OH, now 5-6.
Courtney Rolf scored 14 points for Eastwood, 1-9, while Diana Bushman added 13 and Alanna Heestand scored
10.
North Baltimore 58, Ridgemont 22
In North Baltimore, the Tigers scored 22 points in the first quarter on the way to the non-league.
Rachel Flores scored 18 points and added four assists for NB, now 9-3 overall. Jessica Frost added 13
points and 11 rebounds and Jessica Casey had 12 points and three steals for NB.
