Prep Basketball: BG girls defeat Maumee 1-8-11

Bowling Green jumped in front early and then held on for a 47-40 Northern Lakes League win over Maumee
Friday.
In other games in the NLL, it was: Perrysburg 50, Anthony Wayne 44; Rossford 34, Springfield 26; and
Northview 40, Southview 30.
In the Toledo Area Athletic Conference, Northwood defeated Cardinal Stritch, 35-30.
In boys Suburban Lakes League games, it was: Gibsonburg 50, Eastwood 47; Otsego 53, Genoa 45; and Lake
65, Woodmore 64.
In boys Midland Athletic League games, it was: Fremont St. Joseph 67, North Baltimore 47; and Fostoria
St. Wendelin 55, Lakota 45.
GIRLS
BGHS 47, Maumee 40
Marissa Milligan scored 12 points and Hayley Williford added 10 as Bowling Green improved to 8-2 overall
and 2-2 in the NLL.
Maumee is 2-7, 0-4.
Rossford 34, Springfield 26
In Rossford, the Bulldogs held Springfield to nine points in the second half to help secure the NLL win.

Abbey Geraghty had nine points and 10 rebounds for Rossford, now 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the NLL, and
Kasey Geraghty added nine points.
Ciara Ruiz and Erin Delaney each scored eight points for Springfield, 2-6, 0-4.
Northview 40, Southview 30
In Sylvania, Northview remained tied with Perrysburg at 4-0 in the NLL with the road victory.
The Wildcats are 6-2 overall. Southview is 4-3, 2-2.
No other information was reported.
Northwood 35, Cardinal Stritch 30
In Oregon, the Rangers broke away from a 14-14 tie at halftime for the TAAC victory.
Sammie Brisbin had 11 points to lead Northwood, now 3-7, 2-2.
No player scored more than seven points for Stritch, now 2-8, 1-4.
BOYS
Otsego 53, Genoa 45
In Tontogany, Otsego scored 18 points in the final quarter to help secure the SLL win over Genoa Friday.

A.C. Limes led the Knights, now 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the SLL, with 21 points, including a 9-of-11
effort from the free-throw line, Ryan Smoyer added 12 points and Sam Forshey had 12 rebounds. Smoyer
added eight rebounds, Limes had seven and Kody Nyler had six.
Luke Sutter scored 14 points for Genoa, now 2-4, 0-3.
Lake 65, Woodmore 64
At Owens Community College, Woodmore’s Jon Sandwisch hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left to tie the SLL
game Friday and then Lake’s Dylan Hirzel split a pair of free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining to give
the Flyers the win. Lake is 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the SLL while Woodmore is 5-4, 2-2.
Ra’Shad Smith led Lake with 19 points, Hirzel scored 14 and Kurt McKee added 12.
Grant Weirich scored 21 points for Woodmore.
Fremont St. Joseph 67, North Baltimore 47
In North Baltimore, St. Joseph led 55-31 through three quarters in the MAL game.
The Crimson Streaks are 4-5, 3-1. NB is 2-7, 1-3.
Brant Reardon had a game-high 22 points for St. Joseph.
Tommy Hillard led the Tigers with 15 points.
Fostoria St. Wendelin 55, Lakota 45
In Kansas, the five starters did all the scoring as Fostoria St. Wendelin downed Lakota in MAL play
Friday.
Alex Shantz led the Mohawks, 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the MAL, with 21 points.
Nick McDole’s took game-scoring honors with 22 points and Dillon Reinhart added 11 for the Raiders, 0-9,
0-4.
