Maumee suffers first league loss

Springfield’s boys handed Maumee its first Northern Lakes League loss of the season, winning 57-41
Wednesday.
With Bowling Green’s 74-62 win over Northview, the Bobcats have sole possession of first place in the
league standings. Maumee hosts BG Saturday.
Also in the NLL, Perrysburg topped Rossford, 77-45; and Southview defeated Anthony Wayne, 47-41.
Springfield 57, Maumee 41
In Holland, Springfield out-scored the Panthers 23-7 in the final quarter.
Springfield is 4-4, 2-3. Maumee is 5-3, 4-1.
Chester McFadden led all players with 19 points for the Blue Devils, while Jeremy Weemes had 11 points
and Leroy Alexander added 10.
Jordan Lane paced Maumee with 15 points.
Southview 47,
Anthony Wayne 41
In Whitehouse, Southview overcame a 24-17 deficit at halftime for the victory.
The Cougars are 4-4, 3-2. AW is 2-6, 1-4.
Joe Vermilya led a balanced attack for Southview with 11 points.
Reed Allen and Jake Conklin each had 13 points to lead the Generals.

Lake sweeps three-way meet
In Northwood, Lake swept a non-league triangular match over Northwood and Fostoria.
The Flyers beat Northwood, 56-18; and Fostoria, 34-30. Northwood won its other match, defeating Fostoria,
34-30.
Elmwood splits
In Bellevue, the Royals split their two matches in the non-league triangular match.
Elmwood beat Bellevue, 34-31; and lost to Edison, 44-26. The Royals are 10-5 in duals this season.
BOYS BOWLING
BG opens NLL with win
At Al-Mar Lanes, Bowling Green opened its NLL bowling season with a victory over Springfield,
2,594-2,185.
Juan Ybanes led the Bobcats as he rolled a 258 second game for 435.
Cameron Walter had games of 223 and 215 for 428. The team had 234 and 222 in their 653 Baker series.

Bobcats open NLL with win
Bowling Green easily defeated Springfield 2,200-1,617 on Wednesday at Al-Mar Lanes to open its NLL
season.
Kelsey Parker led BG with a 191 game and 351 total. Eclipse Stockwell added a 181 for 335.

St. Aloysius defeated Sylvania St. Joseph, 53-0. Leaders for St. Al’s were: Camille Bratton, 20 points,
Grace Donelly, 14 points; Courtney Wagner, nine points; and Anna Szabo, eight points.
Eastwood beat Otsego, 21-20. Leaders for Eastwood were Jaci Juergens and Reagan Boice.
Eastwood defeated Woodmore, 32-23. Leaders for Eastwood were Maddie Kemner and Boice. The Eagles are 7-1.

Otsego topped Gibsonburg, 26-21. Leaders for Otsego were Maddie Asmus and Abby Hesselschwardt.
