Joshua James Gates "J.J.," age 3, of New Albany, went to be an angel for the Lord on Saturday,
January 1, 2011 after a brave battle with a brain tumor.
J.J. had a fighting spirit and a sweet and precious smile. He loved to play and read anything that was
Curious George, play with his puzzles, watch the Wiggles, and he also loved stars.
He is survived by his loving parents who will miss him dearly, James and Melissa Gates; little sister,
Ava Ann; proud grandparents, Kathleen Miller, Linda and Gary Moore and Pat and Charlie Gates; three
great-grandmothers, Willie Gates, Marge Sams, and Lillian Thomas; uncles, Matthew Moore, Jake Grover,
Eric Grover and Richard Gates; and many other cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Albany United
Methodist Church, 20 S. Third St., where services will begin at 1 p.m. Dr. Frank Luchsinger officiating.
Interment to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
