BG women drop in poll
Bowling Green’s women’s basketball team is 34th with 15 points in the Associated Press poll this week.

The Falcons, 12-1 overall, were 31st with 11 points last week. The poll is elsewhere on this page.
BG’s Brown earns MAC honor
CLEVELAND – Bowling Green’s Dee Brown has been named the Mid-American Conference East player of the week
after leading the Falcons to victories over Texas San Antonio and Saint Louis in a three-day span. It is
the second time in Brown’s career that he has received the award.
Brown averaged 14.5 points per game as the Falcons beat UTSA 70-59 Thursday and then went on the road to
beat Saint Louis, of the Atlantic 10, 67-61. It was Bowling Green’s first road victory of the year.
Brown was 9-of-17 shots from the floor and 11-of-16 from the free-throw line during the week. He added
nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Falcons’ Herzberg
receives academic mention
CLEVELAND – Bowling Green sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Herzberg was one of 18 athletes named to
the Volleyball Academic All-Mid-American Conference team Monday, as voted on by faculty athletic
representatives as league institutions.
She has a 4.0 grade-point-average in pre-nursing.
Herzberg played in 31 of the team’s 32 matches, starting 14 times as a defensive specialist. Her .932
serve percentage and .953 serve receive percentage were both second on the team. She was one of five
players with at least 100 digs on the season, finishing with 130 for an average of 1.49 per set. She had
a season-high 13 digs against Eastern Michigan and finished with double-digit dig totals three times.
