Local poets to read work
Poets Jeff Barnes and Louis Hubbell-Staeble, both of Bowling Green, will read from their work at Grounds
for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m.
Kelly Wicks, owner of the coffee shop, said the reading marks the first time in about 15 years
Hubbell-Staeble and Barnes will have read in the shop, and many years since either has given a public
presentation of their work.
Voices of Harmony presents Pemberville Christmas concert
PEMBERVILLE –
The Voices of Harmony will present "Sounds of Christmas" Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pemberville
Opera House.
The performance by the men’s a cappella choir is part of the Live In The House Concert Series
The chorus of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society performs primarily in the
barbershop style.

Papadosio to jam at Cla-Zel
The Athens-based psychedelic jam band Papadosio will perform at the Cla-Zel Theatre 127 N. Main St.
Bowling Green, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m.
The band, which formed in 2006, brings together an eclectic blend of roots music with electronica.
Papadosio is touring to support its latest recording "Observations," which was released in
October.
Opening will be Flow Trio from Bowling Green. The trio of 2005 Bowling Green High School graduates,
started playing together in 2006, learning music together as a unit, not as individuals. Evan Kiehl,
Phil Morris and Ian Poor mix in a variety of influences including funk, electronica, metal, hip-hop,
classical and jazz, allover danceable beats.
Tickets for the concert is $ 10.
Guard band offers free show at North Baltimore High School
NORTH BALTIMORE – The 555th Guard Band will present a free concert on
Dec. 5. at 2 p.m. in the North Baltimore High School Auditorium. They will perform marches, concert
repertoire, as well as seasonal selections.
BGSU staging Wilde comedy ‘Importance of Being Earnest’
The Bowling Green State University Department of Theatre and Film will present Oscar Wilde’s classic
comedy "The Importance of Being Earnest" Dec. 3 through 6 at the Joe E. Brown Theatre in
University Hall on campus.
Curtain times are
Thursday, Friday and Saturday
at 8 p.m. with matinees Saturday and Sunday
at 2 p.m.
Considered Wilde’s greatest dramatic achievement, "Earnest" is a witty satire of Victorian
social hypocrisy.
"The Importance of Being Earnest" is directed by Dr. Jonathan Chambers of Bowling Green. The
cast features
Ali Schmidt, Travis Cook, Kaitlyn Majoy, Lance Mekeel, Stephen Harrick, Darin Kerr,
Chanelle Vigue and
D.J. Gierhart.

Masterworks Chorale theme ‘Repeat the Sounding Joy’
TOLEDO – Masterworks Chorale will present its Christmas concert "Repeat the Sounding Joy," Dec.
5 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. in
Epworth United Methodist Church.
The chorale will perform seasonal works by Leonard Bernstein, Felix Mendelssohn, J.S. Bach and Benjamin
Britten.

Toledo Symphony to host Canadian Brass for pops event
TOLEDO – The Canadian Brass will perform Saturday at 8 p.m. with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra at the
Stranahan Theater.
The well-established brass quintet will perform holiday favorites classical numbers and pop tunes as well
as offering musical surprises.
The orchestra will be conducted by Chelsea Tipton.

Bead shop offers workshops
Coyote Beads, 178 S. Main St., Bowling Green, will hold two workshops for all ages next week.
On Dec. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. the shop will offer a Glass Fused Ornament class.
On Dec. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. the shop host a mosaic stepping stone class.
