Falcon women face another road test

Bowling Green faces another interesting road test tonight at Oakland. Tipoff is at 6:30.
The Falcons are 1-2 overall, coming off a 70-65 loss at Marist on Saturday. BG had a 16-point lead in the
first half, but could not hold on although the game was tied at 65 in the final minute. Marist scored
the final five points of the game to secure the win.
Tracy Pontius leads the Falcons in scoring at 13.7 ppg followed by Tamika Nurse, 12.3 ppg, Jen Uhl, 11.0
ppg and Lauren Prochaska, 10.3 ppg. Prochaska leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.0 rebounds per
game, and assists, with 11 on the season.
A junior, Prochaska is currently 18th on BG’s career scoring list with 1,121 points. Next up is Andrea
Nordmann (1989-93) who had 1,164 points.
Oakland is 1-3 on the season, defeating Columbia in overtime, but losing to Detroit, Toledo and
Marquette.
Freshman Bethany Watterworth, 5-feet-11, is averaging 15.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Melissa Jeltema, a 5-9 senior, is a two-time second-team All-Summitt League selection and was a preseason
first-team selection this season. She’s averaging 12.3 points and 8.0 rebounds a game. Also averaging in
double figures for Oakland is Hanna Reising, a 5-11 senior, 12.3 ppg.
Riikka Terava, a 5-6 redshirt senior, is the team’s point guard and defensive stopper.
